The Oklahoma City Woodcarver’s Club meets on the 2nd Monday of each month, at 7pm. We meet at the City Arts building, located on the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The Club is a 501C(3), nonprofit organization which promotes interest in, and appreciation of, woodcarving. The club thrives on an interested, active membership that devotes its time and talents to a variety of programs which include: demonstrations, instruction, workshops, exhibitions, and social functions. The club does have demonstrations in many of the local schools and libraries around the greater OKC area.
Club members participate in demonstrations throughout the year at various locations in the OKC area. Some of the favorites are the Spring Arts Fair in Downtown OKC and the Oklahoma State Fair. Members congregate weekly at various locations to carve, visit, and help newer carvers. Some of these are; MWC Sr. Center – Mon. pm, Woodson Park – Wed. am, 1st Baptist Church – Thurs. am, Edmond Sr. Center – Thurs. pm, Church of the Servant – Wed. evening.
‘Artistry in Wood’ is the Club’s annual show and sale held the last weekend in October at the Hobbies, Arts and Crafts Building on the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. ‘Artistry in Wood’ is open to the public, and brings local and regional artisans works of art in wood, to be judged, put on display, and sold. Various seminars & demonstrations will be held to educate and entertain both adults and youth. The Club sponsors other seminars taught by club members and artists invited from outside of Oklahoma.
Other oppertunities to carve with us are listed on the About Us page of this website.
