Presidential Papers:
Name Tags – Everyone is to have a name tag – a carved one is preferable. For those who do not have name tags you will again be given the opportunity to contribute 25 cents to the club treasury to help you remember next time.
June Program – Bob Gentry will be bringing the program this month so you can learn a little more about the steel that goes into making your carving tools and knives. If you have any questions about your tools, their sharpening, or their care, just save them up of Bob – he can, and will, help.
Tulsa Show – The annual EOWA show is coming up next month. This is a great chance to take part in an excellent show that is just a few miles up the turnpike. Unlike most other shows, the Tulsa event is a Friday/Saturday event so those who do not like missing church services have a great opportunity to show your wares. It is always fun with wonderful friends. The dates are July 10 & 11 at Union School 6/7 grade center, 10100 E. 61st Street, in Tulsa. Applications will be available at our June meeting.
2009 Show – A few minor changes are under consideration for this year’s show and Richard Dalke will discuss them at this month’s meeting. They may entail making a few last minute changes.
Bishop Seminar – The Phil & Vickie Bishop seminar coming up on November 2nd through the 4th has been filled, but Kent Wallace is accepting applications for alternates in the event of cancellations. Those who have their names on the list should be prepared to submit their $100 deposit in the very near future. There will be a cut-off date after which alternates will be given the opportunity of paying the deposit and moving into the class roster, so do not let this opportunity to slip by you. The balance of the tuition will be due at the beginning of the seminar.
Homeland Chapel – Have you been there lately? Our work at the Homeland Chapel is still in very fine condition although the benches could surely use some touch-up on the varnish. The Methodist Church maintains excellent lighting for night visitors and each of our carved scriptures and plaques are protected from the weather. If you haven’t visited it lately it is certainly worth a few minutes of your time. Evening visitation permits easy, on-street parking, so it will not require much effort. It is located across the street from the East entrance to the Memorial.
